Vendors

We would like to invite you to consider being a vendor at Watermelon Park Fest. In addition to the exciting, eclectic lineup of musical performers we have, the Fest is 3 days packed full of an impressive set of workshops, dances and kids activities to complement the performances. We are expecting a crowd of up to 2000-3000, and since camping is included on site, most of our patrons stay for the duration of the event.

We do jury our vendors for quality and for a good fit to our patron demographic. To help assure a successful vending experience, we also limit how many vendors we will have at the event, and we try to select a nice variety of foods and crafts. Therefore, if you have not been a vendor at our festival before or have changed your offerings, we ask that you submit information about your wares with your application so that we can create a balanced selection of both food and craft vendors. Obviously, this also means that the sooner we receive your application, the better your chances of being selected.

Attention Food Vendors: Last year, we only accepted food vendors who operated out of a mobile licensed unit (LMU), and we still prefer the simplicity of dealing with them. This year, we have decided to also accept applications from food vendors who do not operate out of an LMU, however, the deadline for application is much earlier for these vendors since there is additional paperwork and deadlines for the Health Department. Non-LMU vendors must submit all paperwork and fees by June 15th to be guaranteed a space. LMU vendors have until August 15 to submit their application and fee to guarantee a space, however, it is advised that they submit as early as possible since we limit the number of vendors, and there is a discount for payment prior to June 15th. No vendor will be allowed to set up at the festival without their payment having cleared.

Again this year, as part of our on-going efforts to “green” the festival, we require that all food vendors use biodegradable, compostable or highly recyclable serveware, such as corn-based plastics, bagasse food containers, and aluminum cans rather than plastic bottles. We ask that you use no Styrofoam or glass containers. If you notify us ahead of time, we can provide certain compostable serveware for sale at our cost for you to use for the event. Green serveware is also now available many places both locally and on the web. We are also asking that both food and craft vendors make the effort to separate their trash and use the available recycling and composting bins at the event.

If you have any questions, feel free to email or call me.
