PICKIN' CONTEST:
This years contest will be held on Saturday, September 20th at 12:00 p.m. and will feature one round for Guitar and one round for Mandolin. Contestants must register by 11:45 a.m. and be in attendace at the stage for inclusion in the contest. The rules are below.
Over $5000 in Cash & Prizes including a brand new Fairbuilt Guitar and Weber Bitterroot Mandolin.
Pickin’ Contest Rules:
1.
Contestants must pay $25 to participate in the Contest.
2.
Songs should be no more than 2 minutes in length
and must be traditional old-time tunes.
3.
Contestants are allowed one accompanist on a different instrument.
Guitar Contestants cannot be accompanied by another guitar, and Mandolin Contestants cannot be accompanied by another mandolin.
4.
Contestants must be signed up and present at the Side Stage
by 11:45 p.m. and no later to be counted in the contest.
5.
Contestants may be called to the stage in any order.
6.
Winners will be announced on Saturday following the Contest.
7.
Prizes will be awarded to the top three scores for Mandolin and Guitar.
8.
Winners agree to play their new instruments together in the
Contest Winners Jam at Saturday Evening on the Main Stage.
9.
All contestants agree to hold Watermelon Park Fest and
its affiliates free of liability for any and all damages
resulting from participation in the contest.
10.
The Contest Coordinator has the FINAL say. There will
be no disputes, quarrels, or arguments heard whatsoever.
